DENTAL IMPLANTS
Complete Your Smile WIth Dental Implants in Scottsdale, AZ.
For missing teeth, our clinic in Scottsdale offers dental implants. Unlike the old traditional bridges, the dental implant we provide at our Scottsdale clinic is the closest thing to a natural tooth replacement available.
It is important to replace missing teeth because it can cause other teeth to experience more forces and trauma. Additionally, when teeth are lost, there can be a shifting of adjacent teeth that can cause headaches, neck pain, and even TMJ symptoms.
We offer partial and full-mouth dental implants in Scottsdale to restore your smile and improve your oral health.
What are Dental Implants?
A dental implant is a small post, usually made of titanium. They’re surgically attached to your jaw and act as a replacement tooth root. An artificial tooth replacement called a crown is then attached to the dental implant. The crown is custom-fabricated to function well with your natural teeth.
Dental implants are a long-lasting, durable solution for missing teeth. They restore your overall oral health and give you a healthy smile. Because they’re secured within your jaw, they look, feel, and function like your other teeth. After some time, they’ll feel completely natural.
Who Needs Our Dental Implants in Scottsdale?
Dental implants are necessary for those with missing teeth but can’t or don’t want to get dentures. Without them, your jawbone may deteriorate. They support a healthy bite and keep your existing teeth in place.
You may also feel you need dental implants for their visual appeal. A beautiful, healthy smile contributes to your self-esteem. Being able to eat, smile, and laugh comfortably when socializing is essential for your enjoyment and will positively impact your overall mental health.
Generally, anyone with healthy gums and enough bone to hold a dental implant can undergo the procedure. However, the following need to be evaluated on an individual basis:
- Heavy smokers
- Those with uncontrolled chronic disorders like diabetes
- Those who have had radiation therapy to the head or neck area
Your dentist will perform a comprehensive evaluation to determine if you’re a good candidate for the procedure. If you can’t get dental implants, they will present you with alternative restorative dental care options such as dental filling, crowns, and bridges.

Types of Dental Implants You Can Get
Rod W. Gore DDS offers different types of dental implants that will make Scottsdale patient’s smiles healthier and more beautiful.
Single Tooth Implant
Replace an entire tooth and complete your smile again with single tooth dental implants.
Multiple Implant
Replace two or more missing teeth from root to crown with implant-supported bridges.
Full Arch Implant
Replace an entire arch or row of missing teeth with a seamless full arch dental implant.
Benefits of Dental Implants
Prevent bone loss
When you have missing teeth, the jaw also tends to lose bone mass. This can affect how you eat, speak, and look. But with dental implants, your teeth are replaced from root to crown, keeping the bone structure intact.
Keep your natural speech
Permanent tooth loss and some tooth replacement methods can impact the way you pronounce words. But dental implants look and feel like natural teeth, so you can speak easily and naturally.
OVERVIEW
Dr. Gore’s dental implant procedure in Scottsdale begins with treatment planning.
Professional Dental Implant Surgery in Scottsdale
During the procedure, Dr. Gore will place the tooth root implant into the bone in the place of the missing tooth. Your jawbone will integrate with the implant, keeping it in place and giving Dr. Gore a secure “anchor” to attach the crown to later.
The healing process takes approximately 3 months. Once your bone integrates completely to the implant, we attach (screw) an abutment (a small connector post) to hold the porcelain crown.
Dental implants look and feel very much like natural teeth. Besides enhancing your smile, implants also fully restore your ability to chew. You can enjoy food without worries and brush and floss normally.
Since dental implants are permanent, you can usually eliminate the challenges that come with removable dentures. And unlike tooth-supporting bridges, implants do not require reducing or preparing other teeth.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Prior to a dental tooth implant procedure, a thorough comprehensive evaluation will be performed to evaluate if a patient is a good candidate for a dental implant. Dr. Gore will rely on the latest digital imaging software to help evaluate the bone structure of the area of the missing tooth. A patient will have a simple, painless 3D Cone Beam scan done in the office to assist with their evaluation. This advanced technology will help determine the size and angulation the implant will need to be for the most ideal results and if an implant is even a viable option. After the placement of the implant, the site will need to heal for approximately 3 months. If a missing tooth is in the ‘smile zone’ a patient may not want to go with an open space during the healing phase of treatment. In that case, a small, custom-fit replacement tooth will be fabricated. This appliance is called a flipper and is similar to an orthodontic retainer. It fits against the inside of the teeth where it is mostly out of sight, with a natural-looking replacement tooth attached to it. This gives the illusion that there are no missing teeth while giving the implant in the tissue below it time to heal.
The use of local anesthesia will be used to freeze or numb the area during your dental implant procedure.
TREATMENT AFTERCARE
After a dental implant is placed many patients report minimal discomfort. If there is any discomfort, over-the-counter pain medication like Advil or Tylenol is recommended to relieve it. Dr. Gore will have patients return for a post-operative appointment at about 1-week post-op. At this appointment, a visual exam of the implant site and an x-ray will be taken to help them evaluate how the patient is healing. The implant will heal for approximately 2-3 months, depending on the type of implant surgery that was performed. At a 2-3 month follow-up visit, Dr. Gore will determine if the healing around the implant is complete and ready for the new, beautiful porcelain restoration to be fabricated.
ANTICIPATED COSTS
The cost of dental implants varies depending on the complexity of your case and the number of teeth you need to be replaced. If your dental implants are medically necessary, you can check if your health insurance provider partially covers the costs.
