Free Virtual Smile Consultation in Scottsdale

Mature woman with a confident smile, showcasing the results of cosmetic dentistry and rejuvenation treatments. Our free virtual smile consultation in Scottsdale, AZ gives you a no-charge, no-obligation way to start a cosmetic conversation with GOREgeous Smiles from wherever you are. You upload a close-up smile selfie through our Smile Virtual sign-up page, share what you’d like to change about your smile, and Dr. Rod W. Gore sends back a customized video with personalized recommendations.

This isn’t an automated smile-design tool or a chatbot. Dr. Rod W. Gore is an AACD Accredited Member who has been practicing cosmetic dentistry in Scottsdale for decades, and the video you get back is his actual read of what’s happening in your photo and what’s realistic for your situation.

There’s no commitment attached. If you decide our practice is the right fit, we’ll book you for an in-person consultation to take the next step. If not, you don’t hear from us again. Many patients use the virtual consult as a low-pressure first step before scheduling anything, and a fair number find that one short video answers the question they came in with.

What Is a Free Virtual Smile Consultation?

A virtual smile consultation is a remote, photo-based first look at your smile from a cosmetic dentist. You upload a close-up smile selfie through our Smile Virtual sign-up page, share whatever concerns or goals you have about your smile, and Dr. Gore reviews your photo and what you wrote before sending back a short video with possible directions for your case. The whole process is asynchronous, which means you don’t have to coordinate a video call or sit on hold. You submit when it’s convenient, and the video reply comes back to you by email.

What the Consultation Can Tell You

A virtual consult is a starting-point conversation, not a treatment plan. Looking at a well-taken selfie, Dr. Gore can usually identify the cosmetic options worth exploring – whether that’s teeth whitening, dental bonding, dental veneers, or a coordinated smile makeover across multiple teeth. He’ll also give you a sense of what’s realistic for what you’re asking about, and whether anything visible in the photo suggests a tooth or gum issue that should be addressed before the cosmetic work begins.

What It Can’t Tell You

We’re being straight with you about the limits, because a virtual consult is not a clinical exam. We can’t take X-rays through a photo. We can’t measure your bite. We can’t check the inside of a tooth or assess gum health beyond what the camera shows. So while the video gives you a real cosmetic direction, the firm treatment plan and pricing only come together at an in-office visit where we can do the full workup. We’d rather tell you that upfront than oversell what photos can do.

Who It’s a Good Fit For

The patients who get the most out of this format usually fall into one of three groups. The first is patients researching cosmetic dentistry in general but not yet sure what they actually need. The second is out-of-state or out-of-area patients considering travel to Scottsdale for treatment, who want a sense of what’s possible before booking flights. The third is patients with dental anxiety who’d rather get a sense of the doctor and the options before walking into an office. If any of those describes you, the virtual consult is a sensible first move.

Your Cosmetic Dentists in Scottsdale

Dr. Rod W. Gore personally reviews every virtual consultation submitted through our practice. The selfie goes straight to him; it doesn’t get screened by a hygienist or processed by an automated tool. Dr. Gore has held AACD Accredited Member status since 1995, one of only two dentists in Arizona who currently hold that peer-reviewed credential. AACD Accreditation requires submitting completed cosmetic cases for examination by other accredited dentists, which means his eye for cosmetic work has been measured against published clinical and aesthetic standards. Dr. Gore’s bio page covers his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Northwestern University in 1987, his founding of the Phoenix Esthetic Study Club in 1998, and his clinical instructor positions teaching other dentists cosmetic technique.

Dr. Brynn Van Dyke, DMD, also sees cosmetic patients at our practice and has specific advanced training in composite veneer techniques. More on her bio page.

The Virtual Consultation Process

Step 1: Upload a Close-Up Smile Selfie

On the Smile Virtual sign-up page, you’ll upload a close-up smile selfie and write a few sentences about what’s bothering you or what you’d like to change. A phone camera works fine. What you write is what tells Dr. Gore where to look first, so the more specific you can be about your concerns, the more useful the video reply will be.

Step 2: Dr. Gore Sends a Customized Video

Dr. Gore reviews your selfie and your written concerns personally and records a short video addressing your questions. The video covers what’s possible for your situation, the rough order of options from least to most involved, and what an in-office visit would clarify. He doesn’t try to deliver a fixed treatment plan from a photo. That’s a job for the chair. But he’ll give you a real cosmetic direction.

Step 3: You Decide What’s Next

The video comes back to you by email. From there, the next step is yours. If you want to come in to have the case worked up properly, you can schedule an in-person visit that builds on what Dr. Gore covered in the video. If you’re still in research mode, the video is yours to keep and rewatch, and there’s no follow-up pressure from us. We only reach out again if you ask us to.

Benefits of a Virtual Smile Consult

The clearest benefit is lower friction. A traditional cosmetic consultation involves taking time off work, driving in, and committing to an appointment slot before you know whether the dentist is a fit for what you want. The virtual consult lets you skip every one of those steps for a first conversation.

It’s also more honest than the smile-design simulators floating around the internet. Those tools render a generic “after” image that doesn’t account for the shape of your face, the position of your gum line, or what your existing teeth will actually support. The video reply you get from a real cosmetic dentist accounts for all of that – not in the form of a polished marketing image, but in the form of a candid read of your specific situation.

If you eventually do come in, the virtual consult also makes the in-office visit faster and more focused. By the time you walk through the door, Dr. Gore already knows what you want and what’s likely on the table for your case. The chairside time goes to the parts that actually require chairside time: the exam, the photographs, the smile design, the bite analysis.

You may find it helpful to browse our smile gallery alongside the video, since seeing real cases similar to yours often clarifies which direction appeals most.

Why Choose Our Practice for a Virtual Consult

Close-up of a woman smiling as a dentist uses a mirror and scaler for a dental examination. The single most concrete reason to use our virtual consult instead of a generic smile-design tool is who reviews your selfie. Dr. Gore is one of two dentists in Arizona currently holding AACD Accredited Member status. That credential is what’s reading your photo. Not a template, not an algorithm.

We also keep the format honest. We don’t dress the video up with a generic stock “after” photo or push you toward the most expensive option in the room. The video tells you what we actually see, including any reason a more conservative path might serve you better than a full makeover. If your situation needs less work than you assumed, we say so.

Many of our cosmetic patients started with this exact process – selfie in, video back, in-office visit when they were ready. Their feedback after the in-person work is what tells us the virtual consult is doing what it’s supposed to do.

What our cosmetic patients say about working with us:

“Excellent experience. Dr. Gore and everyone in the office were wonderful. I feel that I have found the right dentist.”
– Sandy G., Google review
“Dr. Gore spent a great deal of time with me explaining procedures and answering questions. He and his staff were very thorough, kind and attentive.”
– Sara E., Google review
“Dr Gore and his staff are always gentle, kind and thorough. I am not a ‘good’ dental patient so this is important to me. Dr Gore is extremely knowledgeable and I find his staff to be so also.”
– Pamela K., Google review

What the Virtual Consult Costs

There’s no charge and no commitment. The virtual smile consultation is a free service we offer because we’d rather give patients a useful first read than have anyone book an in-office appointment they’re not sure about. There’s no card on file, no insurance question, no follow-up sales call.

If the virtual consult points to cosmetic work you decide to pursue, the cost of the actual treatment depends on what’s involved. Whitening alone is in a different category from a six-veneer case, and a single bonding repair is in a different category from a coordinated multi-procedure plan. We give you a clear written estimate after the in-office consultation, before any work begins.

Most cosmetic dentistry isn’t covered by dental insurance because it’s elective, with some exceptions for tooth-colored fillings or crowns on damaged teeth. For patients pursuing more involved cosmetic work, our front office team verifies any benefits that may apply (we currently accept Cigna and Guardian PPO among other major plans) and lays out third-party financing options so the cost can fit a monthly budget. The Financial and Insurance page outlines accepted plans and payment options.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I write in the concerns section of the form?

Be as specific as you can about what bothers you or what you’d like changed. “I want my front teeth whiter and the small gap between them closed” gives Dr. Gore far more to work with than “I want a better smile.” If you’ve already considered specific procedures like veneers or bonding, mention that too. The detail you provide is what shapes the personalized recommendations in the return video.

Is the consultation actually free, or are there hidden fees?

We mean free in the literal sense. The consult costs us a small amount of Dr. Gore’s review time, and we offer it because patients who get a real first read tend to make better decisions later, whether they choose us or not. It’s our way to make sure patients book an in-person visit only when they actually want to.

How will I receive Dr. Gore’s video reply?

You can watch the video on a phone, tablet, or laptop, and rewatch it as many times as you want while you decide what to do next. The link comes to the email address you provide in the sign-up form, and there’s no expiration on it.

Can the virtual consult tell me exactly what my treatment will cost?

Not exactly. The video gives you a realistic ballpark for the cosmetic direction we’d recommend, but the firm written estimate only comes together at an in-office visit, where we can see the bite, gum health, and tooth structure that photos can’t show. We do tell you in the video whether a case looks small, mid-sized, or extensive, which is usually enough to know whether to keep going.

What if I’m not ready to commit to anything after the video?

Then you don’t commit. The whole point of the free consult is to make a real conversation easier to start, not to push you toward a sale. Plenty of patients sit with the video for weeks or months before deciding what to do, and some compare it against opinions from other practices before coming in. That’s exactly what this is for.

What kind of selfie works best?

A clear, well-lit close-up of your smile from straight on is what works best. If you’re not sure your photo is good enough, take a few and submit the one where your concern is most visible. Dr. Gore is reading the photo for cosmetic detail, so anything you can do to keep the front teeth in focus and free of glare will help him give you a better video.

How is this different from the AI smile-design tools I’ve seen online?

An AI tool generates a stylized “after” image based on your photo and standard cosmetic templates. The image can look impressive on screen but doesn’t tell you whether the result is achievable for your specific anatomy or how many appointments and what kind of work it would take to get there. The video you get from us is Dr. Gore’s real read of your case – less polished, more useful.

Do I need to be a current patient to use the virtual consultation?

No. The virtual consult is open to anyone considering cosmetic dental work, including patients who have never been to our Scottsdale office and out-of-state patients weighing whether to travel for treatment. Existing patients can also use it as a low-pressure way to ask about a new cosmetic option without booking a separate consult.
